oh, it’s always so tough to start leaving the little guy at home alone. especially frenchies, because of that infamous yowl. the best thing you can do for your pup is crate train him. walter LOVES his crate! most dogs do: it’s their den, and they feel super cozy and safe in it. it also helps with the peeing situation…and the eventual chewing situation that may come about if your little guy has the run of the house too soon.
you can make the crate nice with fuzzy pads and blankets, and tempt him inside with his favorite treats (like a kong filled with kibble - that keeps him occupied trying to get to his food!) put him inside for a few minutes while you leave the room, and wait until he stops crying to return and treat him. just make sure you never reward a crying pup - as tempting as that may be, it just reinforces bad behavior.
walter wishes you luck - now there’s almost nowhere else he’d rather be than his crate! unless it’s a lap…or the couch…or in front of his food bowl…
